Nour Taher is a Palestinian artist born in and raised in Jordan, who earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada in 2008.

Working primarily in contemporary figurative painting, she uses expressive brushwork, layered compositions, and bold, saturated colors to explore identity, memory, and belonging. Her practice centers on self-portraiture and prominent female figures that confront the viewer directly, creating an intimate, almost conversational exchange. These figures are not passive subjects but active presences, inviting the audience into a shared space of vulnerability and reflection.

Living in different parts of the world and experiencing different cultures, Taher engages in an ongoing self-exploration of culture and personal representation. Intricate patterns and ornamental references intertwine with the body, symbolizing inherited histories and the complexity of navigating multiple cultural identities.
